Hip pain is a common complaint among our patients and may be caused by a variety of factors, which is why it is important to have an accurate diagnosis of where your hip pain is coming from. Just like any other injury, these to the hip can be caused by either acute injuries like fractures and hernias or chronic injuries such as osteoarthritis and tendonitis.
Pain in the hip can be caused by an injury that isn’t located directly within the hip and is known as referred pain. This types of injuries are typically due to pinched nerves or herniated discs in the lower back. These chronic injuries to the lumbar region of the spinal column are often due to poor posture at the workplace or at home and can cause excruciating pain.
At Makovicka Physical Therapy, we have been able to quickly and accurately diagnose hip pain to not just alleviate the pain but treat the source of the pain to reduce the chances of reoccurrence.
